So, when the foremost economist in the US says that he supports private accounts, but, well maybe we should stop and consider it. What are we supposed to think? I think Greenspan is a right-wing shill. The Bushies have made him a lot richer, so, he says whatever they want him to say. Rove, tug on his arm string...maybe it will punch him in the eye.
Krugman: "But Mr. Greenspan is no longer entitled to such deference. By repeatedly shilling for whatever the Bush administration wants, he has betrayed the trust placed in Fed chairmen, and deserves to be treated as just another partisan hack." [NYT]
Herbert: "Extraordinary rendition is antithetical to everything Americans are supposed to believe in. It violates American law. It violates international law. And it is a profound violation of our own most fundamental moral imperative - that there are limits to the way we treat other human beings, even in a time of war and great fear." [NYT]
It's really great when we can make the rules, then break them whenever we feel like it. Why should we treat others with respect???
